Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) Treatment Machinery
Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) is the bio-waste of the palm oil milling process. The management of this waste is a major concern for palm oil millers due to the volume and cost involved. To overcome this problem, MBL has developed an efficient EFB processing technology which can be easily integrated into existing palm oil mill facilities.
The Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) Fibre produced by the Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) Processing Technology has many useful applications. This biomass material is use for energy generation, composting, mulching, pelletizing, etc. The Instant Composite Technology (ICT) system, another innovation of MBL technology, can further process into Bio-Chemo fertilizer and modify it into required specifications.
In the primary stage, the EFB Single Barrel Press is used to squeeze out the remaining oil and reduce the moisture content in Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB). The recovered mixture of oil and moisture is then separated through the Oil Separation System.
For boiler fuel application, the Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) Break Cutter cum Oil Extractor or Size Reduction Break Cutter will further reduce the moisture content of the pressed fibres and shred it into discrete pieces of 2-4 or 1-2 inches respectively. Shorter fibres improve burning efficiency in the boilers. Alternatively, for more effective application in composting or mulching, the Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) Fiberiser can process the pressed Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) into loose form fibre strands of 4 to 6 inches.
